Too Many Seniors Are Victims of Financial Fraud & Abuse
As your State Representative, I will work closely with the State Attorney General's Office, the Norfolk County District Attorney's office, local law enforcement and the Dedham, Westwood and Walpole Councils on Aging to ensure that no senior is harmed from the scam artists that permeate throughout the senior community. There is no law too tough to punish those that abuse and neglect our seniors.

No Senior Should Ever Be Forced to Leave Or Sell Their Home
Our commitment to easing any burden associated with elder home care can never wane. One of my major priorities will be to ensure the continued expansion of the existing Adult Foster Care program offered by the state Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Office of Medicaid allowing family members and friends to provide full time care giving duties to elder and disabled adults who meet eligibility criteria established by the state.

Prescription drugs are too expensive
The expanded use of generic drugs, which are significantly cheaper than their name brand counterparts, must be at the center of any health care decision made by lawmakers on both Beacon Hill and Capital Hill. I will work at the State House and with Congressman Lynch to increase the buying power of the state Medicaid program and the federal Medicare program to lower the costs of prescription drugs.

I will file an earmark in the state budget to provide
the resources to build a Senior Center in Dedham
While the town of Dedham works diligently to identify a site and create architectural drawings for a Senior Center in the town, I will be on Beacon Hill filing an earmark in the budget to ease the burden of Dedham taxpayers on funding this important project.
